Later in the evening, Jordan will meet Argentina at Dallas Stadium, and Algeria will play Austria at Kansas City Stadium. Both matches kick off at 9pm CDT (02:00 GMT on Sunday). Argentina are overwhelming favourites against Jordan, even with Lionel Messi starting from the substitutes’ bench. Argentina has a 77.9 percent chance of victory.

The match between Algeria and Austria is expected to be closely contested, with a draw being the most likely outcome at 42.1 percent. Austria has a 31.2 percent chance of winning, while Algeria has a 26.7 percent chance. A win would mark the first time Algeria achieves back-to-back World Cup victories.

Teams Advancing to the Round of 32

As of June 27, several teams have already secured their places in the Round of 32. Confirmed group winners include Mexico, Switzerland, Brazil, USA, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, and Argentina.

Group runners-up that have qualified are South Africa, Canada, Morocco, Australia, Ivory Coast, Japan, Egypt, Cape Verde, and Norway. Additionally, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ecuador, Sweden, Paraguay, and Senegal have qualified as best third-placed teams.

Cape Verde has made history by reaching the knockout stage in their first World Cup. They finished second in Group H with three points, behind Spain. Their next challenge will be against defending champions Argentina in the Round of 32.

Iran is waiting to find out if they qualify as one of the best third-placed teams. After a 1-1 draw with Egypt, they are currently third in Group G with three points. For Iran to progress, specific scenarios must occur today, such as Croatia being defeated by Ghana, or DR Congo failing to beat Uzbekistan, or either Austria or Algeria winning their final match in Group J.

The final day of the group stage promises to be a decisive one for many teams as they aim to continue their journey in the World Cup.
